If you have booked an appointment at Mahra, you agree to abide by the following conditions which are in place to protect both you (the client) and myself (Caroline) as the therapist.
Confirmation of your appointment
Once we have agreed your appointment date and time by phone, text or Messenger or email, I will send you a Booking Confirmation by email with my address details on. If you are a new client there will be a Consultation Form (‘CF’) attached. Please read the CF carefully and complete it prior to your appointment, you can return by email up to 24 hours prior to your visit or you can print it and bring on the day of your massage. I will also ask for payment at this point.
Payment for massage
Payment must be made in advance (no less than 48 hours before) by bank transfer or PayPal please. If you have neither of these facilities, I can take your payment by phone. Unfortunately I cannot accept cheques. If you are not prepared to pay prior to your massage then please do not book. This is to protect me as a self-employed person against the lost income of last minute cancellations.

Terms & Conditions
Clients must give 48 hours’ notice if unable to come to the scheduled appointment or there is a need to change it. If less notice is given, it is difficult for me to get another client to fill it and therefore results in my loss of income. If you give 24 hours or less notice to cancel your booking (or you do not attend), your pre-paid deposit is not refundable because I have insufficient time to find another client. This policy applies to all clients including regulars.
If you have booked with a massage voucher and cancel within 24 hours of your booking the voucher will be considered spent and future treatments will require payment.
This policy still stands in the case of adverse weather conditions and you choose not to attend your appointment.
I often donate mini facial vouchers (worth £25), donating my time for free to support local charities. If a client makes an appointment using one of these vouchers received as a prize from a school fair, raffle or fundraiser (this list is not exhaustive) and it is cancelled within 48 hours of the booking under no circumstances will the client be able to reschedule without paying the full fee for their rescheduled appointment. Short notice cancellations prevent me seeing regular clients and therefore impact on my business.
Complimentary Mini Facials with Skincare Consultation
These typically last 45 mins. As there is no charge for them, I cannot reschedule them for no fee if the client needs to cancel/reschedule within 48 hours of the appointment as this would mean losing a paid client slot. If you need to reschedule within 48 hours there would be a £25 charge for the re-booking.
These decisions are final and is in place to protect myself (and family) against loss of income and I would appreciate your understanding of my position.
If in doubt, please ask me before booking.
Please do not arrive earlier than your scheduled appointment time as I may be with another client and unable to answer the door. In the event of a client arriving late this will result in a shorter massage time as I will still have to finish on time so that I am not late for my next client. For your safety, it is not possible for me to reduce consultation time in the event of a client’s late arrival. The full fee as stated on the booking confirmation will still be payable as the full appointment time was still booked for you.
Alcohol & Drugs
Any client arriving who appears to be under the influence of drugs (illicit or prescribed) or alcohol will not be treated as it is simply not safe to carry out massage.
To be updated inline with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
Client consultation forms are stored in a locked box. The details on those forms completed after 1st April 2018 are not used for marketing purposes (letting clients know about offers or updates, sending postal mailings) unless the client has specifically opted in. Consultations completed before this have a marketing ‘opt out’ box and therefore after GDPR becomes enforceable after 25.5.18 I will remove your details from my monthly mailing list unless you specifically opt back in or give me your permission to remain on the list.
