Mahra Massage

Hello!

I’m Caroline Worsley and I am a holistic massage therapist and birth & postnatal doula based in Rawdon, Leeds. I have a special interest in pregnancy and postnatal massage but I am happy to treat all women (pregnant or otherwise!). I set up my business Mahra Massage in 2013 and people ask me what the meaning behind the name ‘Mahra’ is. Well, it is not so exotic after all but a combination of my daughter’s names- Martha and Zahra- and as they are the inspiration behind my business, it seemed a fitting tribute to them.

My background is in nursing and between 2001 and 2014 I have worked as a nurse and health visitor. I have had a wonderfully varied career in which I have particularly enjoyed working with new families as they start their journeys into parenthood.

So how did I get into massage? I simply love massage! It eases so many aches, pains and strains and really lifts the spirits. It is a truly holistic therapy which can be tailored to your needs and can leave you feeling relaxed or invigorated or perhaps a bit of both. Whilst pregnant with my first child in 2011 I felt compelled to train in pregnancy massage after I found great benefit from treatments in the antenatal period and wanted to learn how I could offer it to others. As well as the physical benefits massage brings, it also gave me the space and time emotionally to bond with my unborn daughter and I really valued that.

To be able to train in pregnancy massage I needed to undertake rigorous training in full body massage and anatomy and physiology and I undertook this whilst pregnant with my second child in 2013. At the same time I also completed an ITEC diploma in complementary therapies. I subsequently went on to gain diplomas in Indian head massage, pregnancy massage, holistic facial massage, deep tissue massage and Mizan abdominal therapy which led to me seeing clients from my home in Rawdon for bespoke massage treatments.

Please be assured that I am fully insured by Holistic Insurance Services.

I am down-to-earth, warm and approachable so please feel free to contact me to discuss any of the services I offer, there is no such thing as a silly question!

Warm wishes, Caroline
